Davenport Will Begin Treating Ash Trees in 2013

The city of Davenport is taking an aggressive approach to the emerald ash borer threat, contracting for an inventory of public right-of-way trees to determine what kinds the city has — not just ash — and what condition they are in, said Chris Johnson, the city arborist/forestry manager. The best guess is there are about 5,000 ash among the city’s approximately 23,000 public right-of-way trees, he said.
