Arborjet Donating Treatment to 50 Cornell University Ash Trees

Arborjet is donating treatment to protect 50 ash trees on the Cornell University campus as the next stop on the “Saving America’s Iconic Trees” tour, the company’s latest initiative to ensure the health and longevity of the country’s trees. Tree Killing Beetle Adds Fuel to California Wildfires

Severe conditions across much of California have wrought long term impacts on the states’ urban and native forests. Statistics show that trees in California are dying at alarming rates. According to the U.S. Forest Service since 2010, an estimated 129 million trees have died in California’s national forests due to conditions caused by climate change, unprecedented drought, wildfires, bark beetle infestation and high tree densities. These severe conditions have allowed several native and invasive insect populations to explode, attacking both weakened and healthy trees alike. (more…)

Fighting EAB in Sioux Falls

With the recent outbreak of Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) in Sioux Falls, SD., Arborjet would like to help mitigate the devastation of this invasive species by donating time and materials to treat approximately 45-50 trees at St. Michael Catholic Cemetery in Sioux Falls. Given that the property is in close proximity to the infestation, Arborjet believes this event will provide an excellent educational opportunity for the community to learn about the risks and treatment options of EAB, and on the value of urban tree canopy. Fort Duffield, Ash Treatment Event

In an effort to promote the importance of preserving the country’s trees, forests, and state parks, and to increase public awareness about Emerald Ash Borer, Arborjet Inc. has partnered with the Fort Duffield Heritage Committee to treat 50 ash trees in historic Fort Duffield. Emerald Ash Borer is a bright metallic green beetle originally found in eastern Asia. The tiny beetle feeds and breeds exclusively on Ash trees. The larvae (the immature stage) feed on the inner bark of ash trees, disrupting the tree’s ability to transport water and nutrients. As of May 2018, EAB is now found in 33 states, and the Canadian provinces of Ontario, Quebec, and Manitoba. Since its discovery, it has killed hundreds of millions of ash trees in North America. In this effort and to increase public awareness about Emerald Ash Borer, Arborjet Inc. has partnered with the St. Louis Forestry department to “adopt” the ash trees in Lafayette Square. Emerald Ash Borer is a bright metallic green beetle originally found in eastern Asia. The tiny beetle feeds and breeds exclusively on Ash trees. Arborjet is seeking customer support and interested applicators to join in this special treatment event. Bring your own drill, hammer and tree injection equipment, and Arborjet staff and distributors will be on site to provide TREE-age G4, Arborplugs, drill bits and hands on training. For those interested in learning more about the treatment of EAB bring your questions and be ready to get some valuable hands-on experience!

Dutch Elm Treatment Event

Arborjet Inc., an industry leader in plant health care and arboriculture will be working with Roanoke Parks and Recreation to help preserve their urban trees by treating for Dutch Elm Disease. Dutch Elm is a vascular wilt disease that causes rapid decline in infected trees in as few as six weeks after infection. The workshop will demonstrate the use of some of the leading Arborjet application equipment on five of the city’s mature American Elm trees, located in the central business district. Discussion and demonstration will begin at Elmwood Park in Downtown Roanoke (706 South Jefferson ST SW) and will conclude at Lee Plaza (215 Church Ave SW.) Arborjet is seeking customer support and interested applicators to join in this special treatment event. Arborjet staff and distributors will be on site to provide product: Propizol Fungicide for the tree injections and plenty of hands on training.
