Arborjet | Ecologel Sponsors Houston Area Urban Forestry Council’s Annual Tree Planting Competition with Nearly 600 Pounds of NutriRoot Granular
Arborjet | Ecologel, an industry-leading provider of plant healthcare formulations and equipment, is proud to be supporting the Houston Area Urban Forestry Council (HAUFC) 2026 Tree Planting Competition. The event will take place on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at the Holderrieth Stormwater Detention Basin.
Arborjet | Ecologel will donate its popular NutriRoot Granular product to this year’s contest to ensure the healthy transplanting of thousands of trees. NutriRoot Granular is a fertilizer and soil amendment product that increases root development by stimulating microbial activity and managing moisture. Incorporating NutriRoot Granular into the planting process will help the new trees establish stronger root systems, giving them a higher likelihood of thriving in the new location. Arborjet | Ecologel has committed nearly 600 pounds of product to help safeguard the trees planted during the event.
“The HAUFC does a fantastic job engaging the local community, and we’re happy to contribute to an event that will add thousands of trees to the urban canopy in the Houston area” said Russ Davis, CEO of Arborjet | Ecologel.
Founded in 1986, the HAUFC provides a forum for the Houston community to develop urban forestry initiatives. The Tree Planting Competition is an annual event where teams compete to plant 100 three-gallon trees, adding around 2,500 saplings to the canopy by the end of the day.
Arborjet | Ecologel is a global leader in the plant healthcare industry, delivering innovative products that protect trees, conserve water and provide sustainable solutions for customers. Over the past 25 years, the company has safeguarded millions of trees from insects and disease while developing thorough field-tested research. With proprietary formulas and equipment, environmental stewardship remains the core mission—keeping people and planet in mind.
