Kristin Nikodemski - Horticulture Marketing Manager
Kristin has been a part of the Arborjet team since November, 2014. She joined the company as a Product Marketing Manager, bringing with her 4 years of green industry brand support and development. At Arborjet, Kristin’s focus began by building and expanding the company’s non-injectable product market. In Spring of 2016, Kristin was promoted to Marketing Manager, continuing her focus on the Horticulture Line, while collaborating with other product managers to oversee the Marketing Department.
Kristin’s passion for the industry began as a child, when she would help her father design and tend to their own landscape. As she got older, she got her first job working at a garden center, and found herself constantly bringing home a variety of plants to cultivate in her own garden. Later, Kristin attended Salve Regina University, where she received her BA in Studio Art. In this role, Kristin oversees and manages all messaging, branding, advertising, strategy, and development of new and existing horticulture products. She supports the needs of the national sales team, and manages Arborjet’s horticulture website (TheDirtOnDirt.com) Kristin is also a content contributor as well as a member of The Dirt on Dirt community.
When she has free time, Kristin spends her summer in her own garden growing a little bit of everything! She also likes cooking, reading at the beach, drawing, and working on new crafts.
Dave Estey - Arboriculture Product Manager
Dave joined Arborjet in October 2017 after 8 years in the digital marketing world, the last four of which were spent focused on building marketing products for small businesses across America. He’s working on building out Arborjet’s education programs, fostering a new service provider loyalty program and helping develop the company’s next line of equipment and formulations based on feedback from end users.
While Dave has dedicated much of his professional life to data, his childhood growing up on his family’s farm in rural Vermont has endeared him to plants and animals, where he started his own veggie patch before he was even in pre-school. Dave holds a BA in Communications from Colby-Sawyer College, where he earned student-athlete accolades while competing in Track & Field in the long jump, triple jump and 400 meter hurdles. During summer breaks he worked as a landscaping contractor in the Upper Valley of New Hampshire. A former owner of a small equine farm himself, Dave continues refining his green thumb with a small vegetable garden.
In his free time, Dave races cars with the New England Hillclimb Association and teaches advanced driving skills to police officers and emergency response personnel throughout New Hampshire.
Zac Purinton - Inside Sales/Technical Support
Zac began working with Arborjet early in 2016 as an Inside Sales and Technical Support Representative. He has a wide variety of responsibilities at the Arborjet office – Primarily fielding customer Technical Product questions, repairing equipment, and handling AP/AR procedures. Zac doesn’t stop there, as he also assists in Marketing, Tradeshow management, and sales reporting to support the national technical team members. Zac will also be managing the Winter Webinar series that will educate the industry on Arborjet’s products and processes.
As an avid golfer, Zac began working on golf courses to enjoy the game without paying greens fees, but soon he was hooked and made himself a career out of it. With over 15 years in the green industry, Zac’s prior focus was on turf. He spent six years as an Assistant Superintendent at three different golf courses, and 8 years holding various positions from greenskeeper to irrigation and spray technician. Zac also spent time selling turf care products. In addition to his experience in the industry, Zac has a Bachelor of Science in Plant, Soil, and Insect Sciences from UMass, Amherst, and has held a MA Commercial Pesticide Applicators and Pesticide Sales License.
Aside from his obvious love of golf, Zac enjoys spending time with his wife and raising their daughter, as well as sailing and playing guitar.
Matt Andrus - Technical Specialist, Horticulture
Matt has been in the green industry since he was 16 years old. Although his first task was pulling weeds from under benches, the opportunities for him seemed endless. He eventually became head propagator and managed 6 large greenhouses for 5 years. In addition to traditional greenhouse culture, Matt started a “rooftop garden” business and teaches public and private classes about various cultivation techniques.
In Pennsylvania, Matt studied Environmental Science and Biology, and went on to continue his studies at NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School) in Wyoming. This experience ignited his passion even further, as the courses allowed him to live outdoors in different geographical regions, amongst the very nature he was studying. In addition, he received Risk Assessment, Wilderness First Responder, and Outdoor Educator Certifications from the Wilderness Medicine Institute. His education motivated him to pursue a hands-on approach of “live it, learn it, and teach it.”
In his spare time, Matt enjoys rock climbing and back country backpacking. You can also find him taking classes to broaden his horizons, as well as providing demonstrations for various organizations and non-profits.
Logan Behringer - Customer Service Specialist
Logan joined the Arborjet team in 2016 as a Customer Service Specialist. Her responsibilities include coordinating company-wide events, managing order processing, and providing support to the Marketing Department as well as the national Sales team. Logan brings a wealth of experience to Arborjet with nearly a decade of customer service under her belt.
Logan is an animal lover, and when she’s not at the gym, she enjoys hanging out with her pets.
Lauren Doran - Marketing Communications Specialist
Lauren began working at Arborjet in early 2016 as a Marketing Communications Specialist. She graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2013 with a degree in Communications. Lauren’s main responsibilities at Arborjet include managing marketing automation, and coordinating digital and print advertising. She also creates marketing collateral for trade shows and other events, assists with product launches, and provides support to the Marketing Manager with overall strategy.
Outside of the office, Lauren enjoys spending time reading, playing ice hockey, and attending as many classic rock concerts as she can.
Sydnie Lopolito - Marketing Communications & Social Media Specialist
Sydnie joined Arborjet in June 2017 as Marketing Communications & Social Media Specialist, and has since dedicated her time to managing the company’s social media and public relations initiatives. Her responsibilities include running Arborjet’s blog and social media channels, drafting creative content, developing PR strategies, and supporting trade shows and company events.
Sydnie has a strong background in PR and writing and has experience in a number of verticals, including home and garden, technology, lifestyle, and entertainment. She holds a BFA in Writing, Literature, and Publishing from Emerson College and is nearing completion on an MS in Management from Merrimack College.
When she’s not on the job, Sydnie enjoys hiking the White Mountains, practicing yoga, writing stories, and vehemently following Major League Baseball.
Doug McPherson - Technical Specialist
Doug is a graduate of James Madison University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a concentration in Ecology and Environmental Science. During his time at JMU Doug worked as a research assistant assembling flora of the Smith Creek restoration area. After graduating Doug worked as a gas chromatography and mass spectrometer analyst for two Boston area companies who were contracted by NOAA in the natural resource damage assessment of the Deepwater Horizons oil spill.
Doug began working at Arborjet in early 2013, and is now close to earning his Master’s Degree from Northeastern University in Project Management with a concentration in Managing Technical Projects. Recently, Doug has transitioned to a new role with Arborjet as a liaison between the Marketing and Research & Development departments. He acts as the meeting facilitator for the Product Development Team, and his primary responsibility is managing the labeling and registration of both existing and new products.
Doug enjoys being physically active and spending time with his family, enjoying athletic events, yard work, and exploring nature.
